Book a Visit

Would you like David to visit and talk about the TPS to your staff?

David Fountain set up and leads a peer support group on Facebook that has attracted over 45,000 subscribers and continues to grow by word-of-mouth from teaching colleagues across the country. He has produced and published over 60 videos to explain various aspects of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, shining a light on aspects of the scheme that can make a significant difference to many. He is known for his ability to take complex aspects of the pension scheme and explain them in layman’s language.

David started a campaign in 2020 to allow for a £1 change in pay to counter the negative impact made on pensions during a pay freeze. This campaign was taken up by ASCL, NAHT, NEU, NASUWT and the then Voice Community Unions resulting in the DFE agreeing that this could be implemented.

David is not a financial advisor and sells nothing related to pension schemes or other investments. David is driven by his desire to help teachers understand and navigate their pensions and avoid making mistakes, some of which he made himself. As a young and busy teacher he blindly assumed that if he kept paying into the pension scheme and moving up the pay ladder that his pension MUST get better and didn’t pay attention to the rules of the scheme. His mistakes, he estimates, will have lost him £70,000. This allows him to answer questions without fear or favour.

His fee, for in-persons visits, covers his travel expenses with the remainder being donated to charity. The charities currently being Education Support, Pilgrims Hospices and The Rockinghorse Children’s.
